Win-Win EDIH: Digital Support for Those Who Are Changing — and Changing Others

In 2025, a network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) began operating in Ukraine. Each of them has its own profile, team, and focus on specific regions or industries.
Win-Win EDIH is one such hub, which works to ensure that digital transformation in businesses, universities, and the public sector occurs through practical solutions.

Win-Win EDIH focuses its activities on Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Chernihiv regions. The team brings together experts from universities, the startup ecosystem, and the public sector. The hub's main focus is working with small and medium-sized enterprises, startups, public institutions, and developing digital skills — as these are the foundation for resilience today.

What Is Behind the Creation of the Hub?

Win-Win EDIH was created in response to a need: how Ukrainian organizations — regardless of their scale — can gain access to practical services that help them adapt to the new digital reality. In many regions, it is local businesses and universities that have become growth points after 2022. But even the most proactive teams often lacked the tools to assess their condition, develop competencies, or search for international partnerships.

Therefore, the hub is not just about consultations or trainings. It is a support infrastructure that helps navigate, choose a direction, test hypotheses, or prepare for the next step. And importantly — to do this quickly, clearly, and with consideration of the context.

Win-Win EDIH Team

The Win-Win EDIH consortium includes six organizations that combine expertise in technology, entrepreneurship, education, and public administration. Academic Partners:

  • Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman
  • Zhytomyr State Polytechnic University
  • Chernihiv National Polytechnic University

The startup ecosystem is represented by:

  • Ukrainian Startup Fund
  • YEP Accelerator
  • Vacuum Deep Tech Acceleration

Thanks to this collaboration, the hub is able not only to provide technological services but also to support teams in business modeling, access to funding, and scaling.

How Does the Hub Work with Teams?

Everything starts from conversation and an assessment of digital maturity — and then moves into the format that best suits the specific organization. This could involve participation in a bootcamp, individual consultations, or testing new technologies. Everything depends on the request and the readiness of the team to act.

For SMEs, it is mostly about digitalizing business processes, access to funding, and gaining access to international expertise. For startups, it’s about supporting prototyping and piloting. For the public sector, it’s about data systematization, integrating AI tools, and improving cybersecurity.
In addition, Win-Win EDIH also works with universities: helping researchers develop their projects and find connections with the European network.

What Has Already Been Done?

In the first six months of its operation, Win-Win EDIH launched over 15 services: from pre-investment testing to educational programs and grant consultations. More than 500 representatives from businesses, startups, universities, and government agencies participated in hub events. The first clients have already undergone digital maturity assessments, engaged in training, and received individual support.

An important direction is international partnerships. Win-Win EDIH is developing collaborations with hubs in Poland, Latvia, Spain, Finland, Austria, and others. These partnerships open access to joint events, expertise, and programs for Ukrainian teams. This is how a bridge is being formed between local initiatives and the European digital ecosystem.
